About NuNet

The protocol for a decentralized compute network.

NuNet was incubated inside SingularityNET in 2018, incorporated as a company in August 2021, and launched live on March 2, 2026. Built by a globally distributed team in the open under Apache 2.0.

Our timeline

How we got here.

2018Origin

Incubated inside SingularityNET

NuNet is incubated inside SingularityNET by Dr. Kabir Veitas, Dr. Weaver D.R. Weinbaum, and Dr. Ben Goertzel. The original NuNet whitepaper is published.

2021Company & token

Incorporation, token, Whitepaper 2.0

NuNet incorporates as a company in August. Whitepaper 2.0 is published in October. The NTX token sale runs in November.

2024-25Build-out

Prototype to production

Cardano SPO pilots run on testnet. Catalyst projects delivered (Decentralized GPU ML Cloud, Decentralized SPO). First partnerships with Auki Labs and Serverista.

Oct 2025Specialization

Foundation / Solutions specialization formalised

The NuNet Foundation — operating in continuous form since 2021 — supports long-term governance and stewardship of the open-source protocol. NuNet Solutions formalises its specialisation as the commercial arm. Day-to-day development and operations currently sit with the NuNet team via Solutions.

Feb 2026Validation

HOMEPUTE369 PoC delivered

First validated proof of concept against the production protocol. AI agents managing energy consumption across smart housing — data processed locally on edge devices instead of being sent to the cloud.

Mar 2026Launch

Network Live

NuNet Network Live launches. The protocol transitions from R&D to adoption. Onboarding begins for devices and workloads.

What's nextAhead
Live · Now

The road ahead.

Real workloads are running on the network today in energy, robotics, and data-center infrastructure. The focus now is broadening access, deepening partnerships, and expanding the kinds of compute the protocol can orchestrate.

Our structure

Two entities. One mission.

NuNet operates as two legal entities with separate mandates. The Foundation is established to support long-term governance of the open-source protocol. Solutions builds commercial products on top of it and currently runs day-to-day operations.

NuNet Foundation

Non-profit · Operating since 2021

Established to support long-term governance and stewardship of the open-source protocol and community. Day-to-day operations currently sit with the NuNet team via Solutions. Governance details on the Foundation page.

NuNet Solutions

Operational for-profit · Established 2022

The commercial arm. Builds products and services on top of the open-source protocol. Houses most of the current team. Day-to-day operations of the Foundation are subcontracted from Solutions. Open-core business model: protocol is open-source (Apache 2.0), commercial products and services are built on top.

The founders

The founding team.

NuNet was incubated in 2018. The team that shaped the protocol still leads its direction today.
