Concept

NuNet is a decentralized, self-organizing network operating as a public marketplace for a sharing economy of computing. It taps into global GPU and computing power, revolutionizing how we share, allocate, and exchange computational resources.

NuNet orchestrates access to computational resources in a sustainable, scalable, fair, inclusive, and non-proprietary way. In doing so, the network supports the evolution of humanity’s global socio-technological system, bringing forth a world where advanced computing is universally accessible.

Here are the key ideas:

Openness

Openness

Unlike traditional platform services, NuNet has no central server or business dictating how resources are allocated or managed. Each participant operates autonomously, connecting and optimizing as needed.

Sustainability

Sustainability

Harnessing idle resources, NuNet reduces the environmental cost of computing. There is no need to build new data centres when so many machines remain underused.

Resilience

Resilience

The decentralized self-organized architecture allows for redundancy and fail-safe workflow design.

Security

Security

Advanced decentralized protocols ensure secure access and encryption, protecting against unauthorized participation. Network participants authorize each other directly peer-to-peer, without central database.

Cost Efficiency

Cost Efficiency

Traditional cloud services are expensive, because they maintain and must charge for underused infrastructures. By cross-mobilizing idle  resources, the network effect brings the prices down.

Scalability

Scalability

NuNet supports infinitely scalable workflows that easily integrate into other decentralized (or even centralized) systems.

Evolution

Evolution

Designed by evolutionary scientists, NuNet is created to assimilate new technologies quickly. It integrates new protocols, systems, or innovations,  responding to advancements in AI, IoT, and other tech fields without depending on slow, centralized updates.

Self-Organization

Self-Organization

Participants establish new network nodes joining a free self-organized market of supply and demand of compute. The open-source code-base and P2P architecture can be freely expanded and uniquely adapted to independent projects and workflows.

Decentralization

Decentralization

Purpose

By 2029, the number of IoT devices worldwide will surpass 30 billion, with mobile devices exceeding 19 billion and household computers nearing 1.1 billion. This means that the number of computational entities will soon be six times larger than the entire human population.

Assume all these devices spend eight hours each night idle. If put to work during that time, all these devices would unleash a combined computational force of approximately 3×10²¹ FLOPS. That’s enough to train 10,000 brand-new AI models per year—each comparable in power and size to today’s most advanced large language models, medical imaging and diagnostics models, accelerated drug discovery models, or climate and weather models.

The explosion of new forms of intelligence can be directed toward solving the as-yet unsolvable problems of humanity and our planet. But who is to decide what the world’s computational resources should be working on?

At NuNet, you decide. Governance over our collective decentralized computational superpower is shared among all network participants—each resource owner sets their own conditions and purpose of engagement. The collective intelligence of humanity is shaped one such a choice at a time.

  • What do you want your devices to work on, when you are not using them?
  • How will you leverage the global computing power in your projects?
  • What purposes justify the energy expenditure and hardware use?

Roadmap

The roadmap outlines the plans and latest progress of NuNet’s core development team. But remember, in an open-ended, self-organising network, change comes from all directions—not just from the core team.

You, too, can contribute to NuNet’s open-source codebase and introduce change today!

Quality Revolution

Following the major open-source release of DMS 0.6, focus turns to deep testing. Community members explore installation, usability, and device connectivity. A new network status dashboard offers a bird’s eye view of activity. Meanwhile, the business team begins closing the first use case contracts. NuNet tech is already proving itself in the wild.

3Q 2025

Governance Revolution

NuNet begins reshaping its structure to support both open-source self-governance and enterprise adoption. Two network operators emerge: the NuNet Foundation, a nonprofit in Geneva governed by the Community; and NuNet Solutions, a tech startup supporting custom integrations. Clearer structure means clearer governance, and a clear path to decentralization.

Usecases Revolution

Adoption ramps up. If you’re not seeing new NuNet partnerships, you’re probably not tuned into the right channels. Each use case isn’t just proof, it’s a new node on the network. NuNet Solutions leads the first integrations, but the long-term vision is open: once onboarded, nodes can connect and collaborate freely. Interoperability in action.
